The Medieval Castle, one of the nine castles from Cyprus (the others are in Kolossi, Larnaca, Paphos, Famagusta, Kantara, Buffavento, St. Hilarion and Kyrenia). It was built by the Byzantine Empire around 1000 A.D. It's believed that Richard the Lion Heart have married princess Berengaria of Navarre on this site. Between 1790-1940 the castle was used as prison, now serving as medieval museum with collections covering several hundred years (400-1870 A.D.).

The Archaeological Museum, with very interesting collections of antiquities dating back to the Neolithic Age and the Roman period. Some of the most important archaeological discoveries are stone axes from the Neolithic and Chalcolithic periods, potteries and objects from the ancient cities of Curium and Amathus, as well as Roman gold jewelery, coins, sculptures, columns, vases, earrings, rings, marble statues and others.

The Public Garden, situated on the coastal road and providing a great variety of Mediterranean vegetation like eucalyptus trees, pine trees and cypresses. Inside the garden is a small zoo containing deers, moufflons, ostriches, pheasants, tigers, lions, monkeys, vultures, pelican and other animals. Not far away to the zoo is a small history museum and a garden theater where perform in the peak season famous international groups.

The Carnival from Limassol, which lasts ten days. This festival is very old, dating back to the ancient times, and starts with the entrance of the King of the Carnival, followed by children. During carnival take place every night balls and parties in most hotels.

The Wine Festival of Cyprus takes place in the Municipal Garden of Lemesos (Limassol) in the first quarter of September. People who spend all inclusive holidays in the city and locals have chance to taste some of the best wines of the island, offered free of charge! In the evenings can be followed various groups from Cyprus and abroad performing folk music and dances.
