Cyprus is an extremely interesting place for nature lovers. Paphos is home to a very rare and very shy wild sheep called Moufflon which has magnificent curving horns. These heraldic animal, although roaming wild, can be seen in the forests around Paphos. Another delight is that the island has visiting loggerhead and green turtles which come ashore to nest every year on the sandy beaches of Paphos. These marine turtles are strictly protected and if a tourist decide to venture beyond the local sunbathing beaches and explore areas of pure wilderness, he may find places on the beach which warn of a turtle nest and kindly ask to not disturb!
Cyprus is also a heaven for bird watchers. The island has become a stop for many migratory birds on their travels from Europe to Africa during the fall and back again in spring. More than 300 different bird species have been seen and recorded; the island has two endemic species which are often seen in the coastal regions. The Griffin vulture was once a common sight on the island but now their number is less than 50!

A tourist should visit this memorable place because it is a main attraction in Paphos. Late afternoon the fishing boats come in with their daily catch and this is a very interesting view.
- Sterna winery
The winery is located near village Kathiskas, located at 15 minutes drive from Paphos. The charismatic Cypriot owner will treat each tourists with free wine tasting and a tour of this very small winery.
